Urban TEC makes STEAM fun! 

​On the exVo platform, middle and high school students are transformed into avatars, taking control of their future as they explore this virtual event.  The students will enjoy moving around this immersive 3D platform to hear keynote speakers in main conference room, attend interactive technology sessions in the breakout rooms and listen to music on the rooftop with the DJ and where great door prizes will be given out.  

Middle and high school students will have the opportunity to explore  new technologies with the objective of continuing their interests at their local school or vocational centers.

Here are the details:
 

• The virtual event is set up for middle and high school students to attend on Thursday, November 4, 2021

• The virtual event is set ups for only high school students to attend both Thursday and Friday, November 5, 2021 as their schedule permits. High school students can leave and return back into the virtual event. Their email address will validate their attendance.

• Students can attend as much of the virtual event that their schedule allows

• Registration will be available on Eventbrite September 23, 2021

• ​Teachers can either register their class as a group or students can register individually. However, all registrations must use a school email address - personal email addresses will not be accepted to attend the conference.

• Only student first names will be displayed on their Avatar. The region the student is from and the school they attend will not be shown in the platform.

• Students will be asked to complete a pre/post assessment of the virtual event. All data will be kept confidential for Urban TEC use only. Information will not be shared or sold.

• All attendees will be asked to sign Urban TEC's Consent to Use Video or Photographic Images form where they can opt in/out for consent. This is similar to the consent that students already give at their respective schools; however, since the event is online, Urban TEC needs consent to use students' images.

• The virtual event cost $10.00/student to attend. There are large group, school and district discounts. Please inquire at connect@urbantec.org 

• Early registration is open now until October 7, 2021 where student cost is $8.00/student.

• All verified teachers will receive a complimentary registration which provides them with VIP Full Access to the virtual event

• All participating schools will have their logo displayed throughout the venue at no additional cost

• Schools can pay using a purchase order or school/district credit card
