The Digital Divide

There is a legitimate concern that as technology continues to evolve and advance in our society, so will the gap of access, education, and career opportunities for students in urban schools and communities.

Student Preparedness

We equip students with essential knowledge, skills and abilities for academic success  with the ability to pursue career pathways for success.

Through interactive technology workshops. real-world readiness, and soft skills development, we help build students' confidence and give them the tools to pursue employment opportunities.

Ina Montgomery

Ina P. Montgomery is the Founder, Executive Director, and "Edupreneur" of Urban TEC (Technology Empowered Communities), a nonprofit digital literacy and training organization whose mission is to close the digital literacy gap.

Montgomery founded Urban TEC in 2013 to help teach people in Kansas City's urban core vital tech skills, delivering tech training and technical certification to help Kansas Citians and bridge a racial divide in the city.

As executive director, she has helped grow the Kansas City Coalition for Digital Inclusion from a handful of nonprofit leaders meeting at the Kansas City Public Library into a coalition of more than 200 organizations sharing resources and working to bridge the digital divide.

She's a well-respected figure in the KC tech and education community — definitely someone worth knowing if you're involved in digital inclusion, STEAM education, or community tech work in the area!

Join us at Urban TEC and become part of a movement dedicated to bridging the digital divide and empowering underserved communities in Kansas City. Together, we can create opportunities, foster digital equity, and build a brighter, more connected future for all.
